Book Description:

A young man is found murdered, his bones crushed nearly to dust before his body was dumped into New York’s East River.

In New York there are hundreds of murders a year, but this one is different. Someone is sending a message. And shockingly, the victim has ties to my brother, Stephen Gaines, recently murdered by an elusive drug lord known only as the Fury.

For years this kingpin has been shrouded in darkness. Stephen was executed just as he was about to shed some light. Working alongside my mentor, Jack O’Donnell, I’m going to find the truth behind this blood-soaked curtain. But the more we reveal, the more we realize just how dark the Fury’s plans are. And that no matter how brutal the violence has been, we haven’t seen anything yet...

Interview with Best selling author, Jason Pinter.

CSM: Please help me welcome Bestselling author, Jason Pinter to Over the Edge.   Jason, my readers and I are so psyched that have dropped by to spend time with us.  Thanks so much!

CSM:  Tell us more about yourself

Well, I’m 30 years old, live in New York City, and have been writing since I was pretty much old enough to read (though it took a while for those stories to evolve beyond gibberish). I worked in book publishing as an editor for about five years, and have been writing full time for about two now.

CSM:  Besides being a total book junkie I’m also a music junkie.  When I’m writing I have a sound track playing either in my mind or in my cd player.  What’s your sound track?  What type of music is on it?

I do listen to music, though what kind depends on the scene I’m writing. For action, I tend to like fast, heavy stuff. Metallica, Linkin Park, Eminem. For softer, emotional scenes I like Bob Dylan, Aimee Mann, later Johnny Cash. Then there are the stalwarts like Bruce and Green Day who I’ll listen to whenever I want.

CSM:  How would readers find out more about you?

They can check out my website at http://www.jasonpinter.com, and while they’re there read my acclaimed blog “The Man in Black.” I’m also a contributor to the Huffington Post, and you’ll find me lurking on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/jasonpinter.

CSM:  When did you write your first book?

I wrote my first book in college, an awful-navel gazing coming of age story that did not get published (for a good reason). I wrote my first published book, THE MARK, at the age of 24, and it was published when I was 27.

CSM:  Where and when do you write?

Anywhere and everywhere. Desks, tables, airplanes, pillows. Give me a semi-flat surface and I’ll write on it. At home I have a desk, and I’m always happiest surrounded by loads of books.

CSM:  What is your must-have book for writing?

Two must-haves: a copy of STRUNK & WHITE and Stephen King’s ON WRITING. Any aspiring writers should read both numerous times.

CSM:   What is your advice for aspiring writers?

It’s a cliche, but one that’s repeated for a reason: read. Read everything. Read books that aren’t normally your cup of tea. Read good books and bad books--you can learn from both. And never stop revising. It’s not enough to put words down on the page. They need to be the right words. Keep revising until you wouldn’t change a single one.

CSM:  What genre(s) do you write?

I write books that are a little thriller, a little mystery and a little suspense. You can call them Thrimyspenses, if that’s easier (not sure if it is).

CSM:   Among that you’ve written which is your favorite book and why?

The two books I just published--THE FURY and THE DARKNESS--are my favorites. They’re two books, but one massive story. They are the height of action, suspense and emotion, and the best work I’ve done yet. I’m proud of those books and I think readers will enjoy them.

CSM:  Tell us more about your latetest release by MIRA “The Darkness”.

THE DARKNESS picks up right where THE FURY left off. Henry Parker is investigating the murder of his estranged brother, with the help of his mentor who is fresh out of rehab. Somewhere in New York City an enigmatic drug kingpin named the Fury has risen, and it’s up to Henry to find out who the Fury is...and uncover a plan that could tear a city apart.

CSM:  Any new projects, works in progress?
I’m currently working on the next Henry Parker novel, THE INVITED. I also just released an ebook exclusive novella called THE HUNTERS, which takes place during the one night between THE FURY and THE DARKNESS. Check it out on Amazon or bn.com, and you’ll see just what can happen in one night. As for other works...I always have a few tricks up my sleeve.

CSM:   I want to take this time to thank you Jason Pinter for stopping by and sharing with my readers and myself a little bit about yourself.  This sure has been loads of fun.  I hope you enjoyed being here as much as we enjoyed having you.

Sounds like this is the start of a very promising writing career. Our patrons are always looking for good, new suspense authors with characters they can follow. I'll be checking out Henry Parker to see if he will fit the bill for them.
Good luck with the release of THE DARKNESS. Sounds like Henry has a good future.
