A Bad Day For A Demon

Rafe Deleon is a senior demon and he resents like hell his assignment to Earth to retrieve the Chest of the Damned before it falls into the wrong hands. But then he meets beautiful, intriguing succubus Lucy Gregory, and she's just unleashed a whole load of trouble...

Really Sucks For A Succubus

Lucy's chic suburban beauty salon has suddenly become the Underworld's center of mass chaos and destruction. The only good thing in a day going rapidly down the tubes is the arrival of a gorgeous demon who's adamant that he can help her...

But Lucy has quite a few deeply unpleasant-not to mention deadly and hateful-surprises ahead of her, and surely there's never been a worse time to try out a new boyfriend...

~About Sydney Ayers~

For those who are morbidly curious...

Sidney Ayers loves infusing her stories with humor. What would the world be without a little bit of laughter? She writes a plethora of genres, ranging from historical, to paranormal, to contemporary.

A native of Michigan, Sidney still lives in the same town she grew up in. No matter how hard she tries, she just can’t seem to get away. Michigan is in her blood.

Right now, Sidney is currently working on the 3rd book in the Demons Unleased series of humorous paranormal romances. It stars quirky demoness and jack-of-all-trades, Kalli Corapolous and cardiologist, Joshua Carlson. Hell is unleashed in the most odd, not to mention inopportune, places.

~REVIEW~
Get ready to laugh out loud and bust a seam beacause I have got a brand new book for paranormal comedy romance lovers.  I am calling it day when I cannot put down a book that I have become addicted too, to save my life. And that is exactly what happened when I picked up the paranormal romance DEMONS PREFER BLONDES by author Sidney Ayers which was recently released by Sourcebook Casablanca.

Also known as : Beauty School Demon/Succubus Unleashed/Unleashing Your Inner Sex Demon but I’m kind of partial to DEMONS PREFER BLONDES. Lucia (Lucy) Gregory has a pretty good life with her beauty shop and friends in Connolly Park Michigan. That is until her friend, Serah, who is addicted to shopping and anything antique drops off this crazy looking treasure chest. Freaky thing is that this ancient chest is calling to Lucy. Crazier, she can’t seem to resist placing her hands on it. Oh and once she lays hand on the chest all hell breaks lose---literally. It seems that Lucy’s beauty shop is the beacon and the portal for demons of the underworld to enter. Ok, so things seem a little loopy but then this dark brooding drop down dead gorgeous man enters her shop claiming he is her to protect her. Lucy think sure thing buddy…Her lust radar has hit sky high. What a girl to do when the end of the world is standing right at her door?

Rafe Deleon is a senior demon and he resent like hell being sent to Earth to retrieve the chest before it is open and the world is destroyed. What he really wants to do is rescue his twin sister from the clutches of the demons enemy. But the council of the Paladins sees this assignment more clearly than Rafe. But he’ll go. He’ll get the chest and rescue his sister. Things do not go as planned. He arrives at Lucy Gregory’s beauty shop in time to see the chest has been opened. Hell has no furry like HELL itself. Rafe needs to figure out away to round up the demons, close the chest and keep his distance from Lucy all the while keeping his distance and keeping them alive.

Who said finding your inner succubus was easy?

Lucy not only is fighting for her life but the overpowering sexual urges that rise every time Rafe is around. Control is not in a succubus nature. Hopefully being half human and half succubus Lucy will be able to channel her pent up passion to another area…highly doubtful.

Rafe can run but he cannot hide the fact that this little succubus has more than enchanted him but has worked her magic and stolen his heart. With Hell about to be on Earth in a few short hours these two will find their strength in each other and the group of chaotic but lovable friends.

I have to admit that I read DEMONS PREFER BLONDES with a bit of apprehension just because I did not know what to expect. Man was I BLOWN AWAY. This story will grab readers by the seat of their pants and will not let you go until you have spent the day avoiding your responsibilities to read it. DEMONS PREFER BLONDES his super charged spunky ready with characters that you will not want to let go. Of course I fell for uber alpha senior Demon, Rafe Deleon. Rafe is everything a romance reader wants in their hero. He is so deliciously sex and arrogant that you cannot help but gobble him up. My favorite thing about Rafe is that he is a reluctant hero. He doesn’t want to be on Earth rescuing the chest and makes no bones about letting every one know his disgruntlement. He is also fighting---which I loved—his intense attraction you succubus in training, Lucy.

The dynamic between Lucy and Rafe was hot enough to melt the ink of the pages. When they were not trying to avoid the potent sexual pull between them they were bantering like an old marry couple with wise cracking dialogue that had tears streaming down my cheeks because these two were too funny.

As a reviewer it is so exciting when I come across a book that I am desperate to see what is happens next with this sinfully snarky cast of characters in DEMONS PREFER BLONDES. You will fall head first for Lucy’s shop-alcoholic’s best friend, Serah who brings that abdominal chest into Lucy’s life---hey what are best friends for. Let’s not get me started with Lucy’s beauty shop cohorts: hairdressers extraordinaire Frankie and Gerardo who will crack you up with their wise cracking wit. I still have to go with the two main leads, Rafe and Lucy being my favorite. Without them there would be no story. I was entrenched in the fact that I found Lucy the stronger of the two. Where Rafe was ‘lets get this over because I have better things to do than baby-sit an ancient chest’ attitude Lucy was spunky and a balls to the wall kind of girl. She had loads of things thrown at her and it was a trip watching her figure things out and come to terms with who she was meant to be.

DEMONS PREFER BLONDES is a decadently rich story with snappy dialogue that had me busting stitch one minute and smirking the next. The characters were a breath of fresh air in the paranormal realm. Ms. Ayers gives her readers a high adrenaline action packed with paranormal inferences and saucy and steamy loves scenes that I found myself fanning to beat the heat.

Yes, DEMONS PREFER BLONDES is fictional but even in fiction there is a molecule of truth. The theme of acceptance and coming to terms with things beyond your control was threaded through this laugh out loud story. Every minute spent reading DEMONS PREFER BLONDED was a delight of sheer pleasure.

I want to know what happens when a beauty salon meets the paranormal. That's a first for me and it sounds great. Plus, there's a sassy, snappy heroine to boot!

I love the colours for the cover, rich and sensual. It's very appealing and eye-catching.

Sounds like a fun read. I always like humor in the books I read, but this one seems to go far beyond what I would expect. I haven't read a book that will have me laughing like that in a long while. It sounds like Sidney Ayers has found a way to combine serious plot elements with witty and humorous dialogue. Thanks for the review and letting us know about this book.

A well done cover. The chest, the swirling elements of evil to salvation and the all important main characters. Gives a good feel for what the book will be about.

Loved the review! I love a book that can make me laugh out loud! (and makes my other half look at me like I've lost my mind!)

The cover looks great! Why do demons prefer blondes though? Aren't there any demons who like brunettes?
