Over the Edge Monday Mailbox #1

Welcome readers to Monday Mailbox, at Over the Edge Blog, a meme created by someone completely fabulous (I'm sure).  If any reader knows where I can link my mailbox link to a Monday Mailbox please leave a comment.  I would love to give creditwhere credit is due.  Okay, I had an amazing week last week, with every day like Christmas with my favorite USP delivery man dropping packages of books at my door.  Here are a few Over the Edge Blog books that landed at my feet.  Enjoy! =)

Overview

The New York Times bestselling author of The Iron Duke and Heart of Steel returns to the Iron Seas with a riveting new adventure of steampunk and passionate romance . . .

A century after a devastating volcanic eruption forced Iceland’s inhabitants to abandon its shores, the island has become enshrouded in legend. Fishermen tell tales of giant trolls guarding the land and of seductive witches who steal men’s hearts. But the truth behind the legends is mechanical, not magic—and the mystery of the island a matter of life and death for a community of women who once spilled noble blood to secure their freedom.

Five years ago, Annika unwittingly endangered that secret, but her sister Källa took the blame and was exiled. Now Annika serves on the airship Phatéon, flying from port to port in search of her sister and longing to return home . . . but that home is threatened when expedition leader David Kentewess comes aboard.

Determined to solve the mystery of his own origin, David will stop at nothing to expose Annika’s secrets. But when disaster strikes, leaving David and Annika stranded on a glacier and pursued by a madman, their very survival depends on keeping the heat rising between them—and generating lots of steam . . .

Recent college grad Alex Conner is thrilled to have landed a job as the Hughes County coroner/medical examiner in Pierre, South Dakota. But when her firstday on the job ends with a missing corpse, Alex starts to wonder if she would have been better off collecting unemployment...
When the cops made some cryptic comments about being careful with the body they brought in, Alex just thought the boys in blue were messing with her. That is, until something freaky happens that no amount of med school could have prepared her for. By the time Alex gets herself together, the body has disappeared and the other residents of the morgue start talking her ear off.
After working up the courage to report the missing body, Alex is transferred to the mysterious Precinct 13 where she discovers that her new co-workers—including a cute technomage named Jack—are paranormals just like her. Now, Alex is being encouraged to use her ability to speak to the dead to solve crimes. And despite being in the middle of nowhere, Hughes County sure does have a lot of paranormal activity...

The New York Times bestselling Kate Daniels novels have been hailed as “top-notch urban fantasy” (Monsters and Critics). Now, Ilona Andrews delves deeper into Kate’s world, and reveals its untold stories...
After being kicked out of the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, Andrea’s whole existence is in shambles. She tries to put herself back together by working for Cutting Edge, a small investigative firm owned by her best friend. When several shapeshifters working for Raphael Medrano—the male alpha of the Clan Bouda, and Andrea’s former lover—die unexpectedly at a dig site, Andrea is assigned to investigate. Now she must work with Raphael as her search for the killer leads into the secret underbelly of supernatural Atlanta. And dealing with her feelings for him might have to take a back seat to saving the world...

Or one more thing to ponder for today.

This week's musing asks...
"Do you tend to read to the end of a chapter or can you stop anywhere?"

To answer, I love to read a book straight through.  In fact this morning I began New York Times bestselling author Jaci Burton'sPLAYING TO WIN in her A Play-By-Play series early this morning (rolled over, picked the book up and began to read) and had to stop at page 162 to officially start my day.  I try my best to read to the end of the chapter, but some times life kicks in and you dog ear where you are at that time. So, yeah, I can stop anywhere in a book.  How about you?

HAPPY READING!

Maria, I feel your pain. My kids laugh at me because I act like a kid on Christmas morning when the UPS delivery truck rolls up my drive. It doesn't matter if it is one book or 20 packages of books I still have the same heart pounding excitement.

Crossing fingers book arrive your way...soon
